On Saturday night, the Israeli military launched heavy shelling and air strikes in parts of northern and central Gaza. The strikes, which lasted for about 90 minutes, were focused on eastern Jabalya and Gaza City.
According to paramedics from the Palestine Red Crescent Society, two individuals lost their lives, and several others were injured when a residential apartment near the UNRWA clinic in Jabalya refugee camp was hit. UNRWA, the primary UN agency in Gaza, has faced challenges in operating its facilities over the past year.
Additionally, three more casualties were reported in Bir al-Najjah, located west of Jabalya camp, due to another strike. Witnesses observed Israeli military drones consistently present in the western neighborhoods of Gaza City.
The Israeli military stated that it carried out a 'precise strike' targeting Hamas militants who were using a command-and-control center in Jabalya. The center was situated within a compound that had previously served as an UNRWA facility.
