Israeli Military Claims Senior Hezbollah Commander Killed In Airstrike

Israeli military operates in the northern Gaza Strip

The Israeli military has reported that a senior Hezbollah commander in charge of the group's missile unit was killed in an airstrike on an apartment building in south Beirut on Tuesday. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) identified the commander as Ibrahim Qubaisi and stated that during the attack, there were other key commanders in Hezbollah's missile and rocket array present at the location.

Qubaisi was responsible for commanding various missile units of Hezbollah, including the precision missile units, according to the IDF. The IDF described him as a center of knowledge in the field of missiles and noted that he was closely associated with the senior military leadership of Hezbollah. He was also said to have been responsible for launching attacks towards Israel over the years and during times of conflict.

The IDF further claimed that as part of his role in the terrorist organization, Qubaisi was involved in planning and executing numerous terrorist plots against IDF forces and Israeli citizens. The airstrike resulted in the destruction of two upper stories of the building in Beirut where the commander was located.

Hezbollah has not yet issued any statements regarding high-profile casualties resulting from the strike. The incident marks a significant development in the ongoing tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, with potential implications for future conflicts in the region.
