On Wednesday, the Israeli military came under scrutiny for allegedly firing at a group of journalists in Gaza, resulting in one fatality and several injuries. According to reports from Al Jazeera and medical responders, the incident occurred near the Jabalya refugee camp in northern Gaza.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) confirmed that they transported an injured journalist and the body of the deceased individual to a hospital in Gaza City. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that they were not aware of any troops in the specified area at the time of the incident.

Al Jazeera reported that a photojournalist sustained critical injuries after being shot in the neck, with his condition now stabilized. Additionally, two employees of a TV channel affiliated with Hamas were also shot, resulting in one fatality and one injury.

Footage from the scene depicted the injured journalists being assisted by others, many of whom were wearing press vests. The targeting of journalists in Gaza has raised concerns about the safety of media workers in the region.

According to the Committee to Protect Journalists and Reporters Without Borders, at least 128 journalists have been killed since the conflict began, predominantly Palestinian media personnel in Gaza as a result of Israeli airstrikes. The Government Media Office in Gaza strongly condemned the targeting and killing of Palestinian journalists.
