The Israeli government has issued a warning of a possible Hezbollah attack within a short time frame, prompting the extension of emergency guidelines for civilians further south. The move comes in response to escalating tensions following a series of Israeli attacks in Lebanon.
Previously in place for Israel's northernmost communities, the emergency guidelines will now apply from Haifa northward, according to Israel Defense Forces spokesperson Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari. Hagari emphasized the need for vigilance, stating, 'It is possible that within a short time frame, rockets and additional threats will be launched into Israel.'
As a precautionary measure, the guidelines include restrictions on public and outdoor gatherings. Beaches are closed, outdoor gatherings are limited to 30 people, and indoor gatherings are capped at 300 individuals. However, workplaces and schools are permitted to remain operational as long as suitable shelter arrangements are in place.
Hagari urged the public to adhere to the directives issued by the Home Front Command, emphasizing the importance of staying alert during these uncertain times. 'We're going through days of combat, so it's important to remain vigilant,' he stated.
The heightened security measures reflect the serious concerns over potential Hezbollah retaliation and the need to protect civilian populations from possible attacks. The Israeli government is closely monitoring the situation and is prepared to take further action as necessary to ensure the safety and security of its citizens.
