Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's decision to proceed with the military operation in Rafah, despite warnings from President Biden and Vice President Harris, has been validated by military and Middle East experts. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet intelligence agency successfully eliminated Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas, in a targeted operation in the southern Gaza Strip.

Both Biden and Harris, who had cautioned against entering Rafah, acknowledged Israel's achievement in neutralizing the Hamas terror chief. Sinwar, responsible for a significant massacre in 2023, including American casualties, was a key target for Israel.
