Israeli border police killed a Palestinian man in the Nour Shams refugee camp in Tulkarm, located in the northwest part of the occupied West Bank. The incident occurred during a raid conducted by undercover Border Police forces, in collaboration with the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), to apprehend three men suspected of involvement in terrorist activities.
According to a police spokesperson, as the forces were leaving the area, riots erupted, leading to a confrontation where the Palestinian man was fatally shot by the undercover force. The spokesperson stated that the man had thrown an explosive device towards the forces before being eliminated.
During the early morning raid, Israeli forces entered the Nour Shams refugee camp from various directions and surrounded a house in the Jabal al-Nasr neighborhood. This action triggered clashes, resulting in a young man sustaining critical injuries from Israeli gunfire. The injured man was promptly transported to the Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital but tragically succumbed to his wounds.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health identified the deceased as 31-year-old Sa'id Nazmi Khudair Al-Awawi, who was fatally shot by Israeli fire in the Nour Shams camp. The incident has further heightened tensions in the region and underscores the ongoing conflict and violence in the occupied West Bank.
