Israeli Airstrikes In Lebanon Leave Multiple Dead And Injured

Smoke rises above Lebanon, following an Israeli strike, amid ongoing cross-border hostilities between Hezbollah and Israeli forces, as seen from Israel's border with Lebanon

Recent Israeli airstrikes in various regions of Lebanon have led to a significant loss of life and widespread destruction. In the town of al-Halaniyeh in the eastern Baalbek region, at least six individuals were killed and several others sustained injuries following an Israeli airstrike on a residential house. The wounded have been transported to Rayak General Hospital for medical treatment, as reported by Lebanese state media.

Similarly, in the town of Kfar Tebnit in Nabatiyeh, southern Lebanon, at least four people lost their lives and several were wounded due to four Israeli air raids targeting neighborhoods. The strikes caused extensive damage, resulting in the complete destruction of buildings and turning entire neighborhoods into rubble.

Furthermore, in the Tyre region of southern Lebanon, specifically in Majdal Zoun village, at least two individuals were killed and five others injured in another Israeli airstrike. The country's health ministry confirmed the casualties and injuries from the attack.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have been contacted for comment regarding the airstrikes. The IDF has previously stated that its operations are aimed at targeting Hezbollah positions in the region.

Amid the escalating tensions, an Arabic spokesperson for the IDF issued a warning on social media to residents of southern Lebanon. The spokesperson advised civilians to avoid moving south and to return to their homes or previously evacuated areas, which are now considered dangerous combat zones.

As a result of the ongoing conflict, Lebanon has opened 1,097 shelters to accommodate displaced individuals, with 928 of them already at full capacity. The total number of displaced persons has reached 191,692, with a significant concentration in Mount Lebanon Governorate and Beirut. However, it is believed that the actual number of displaced individuals is even higher than the reported figures, according to sources.
