On Saturday, the Israel Defense Forces conducted a significant operation in southern Lebanon, targeting about 180 locations. The IDF reported that the Israeli Air Force specifically aimed at thousands of launcher barrels that were poised to be used against Israeli territory. In addition to the airstrikes, IDF artillery units also struck various areas in southern Lebanon.
The IDF emphasized its commitment to continuing operations aimed at dismantling and degrading Hezbollah's capabilities and terror infrastructure. Lebanese media sources confirmed the Israeli strikes, noting that they affected a wide expanse of southern and eastern Lebanon. Reports indicated that the attacks led to forest fires in the region.
Meanwhile, in a retaliatory move, Hezbollah launched multiple barrages into northern Israel on the same day. The attacks included targeting the Israeli military's Beit Hillel barracks with Katyusha rockets. The IDF disclosed that around 90 projectiles were fired from Lebanon into Israel, resulting in fires breaking out in northern Israeli areas.
