Israeli army declares end of deadly Jenin operation, trades fire with Gaza

Israel's army on Wednesday declared the end of a major two-day operation in the Jenin area of the occupied West Bank that killed 12 Palestinians and drove thousands of people from their homes. Earlier, Israeli forces carried out air strikes on the Gaza Strip in response to rocket fire from the coastal enclave.

Israel's army said it had pulled troops out of the Jenin refugee camp after the two-day operation, which left 12 Palestinians and one Israeli soldier dead.
