Israel ‘violates ceasefire’ within hours of historic truce, claims Lebanon

The Lebanese army reported multiple Israeli violations of a ceasefire that began at midnight, hours after Donald Trump praised the "historic" truce.
Intermittent shelling was reported in several villages in southern Lebanon, prompting the army to advise citizens against returning to the area.
The 10-day ceasefire followed weeks of intense conflict, including Israeli bombardment and a ground invasion in southern Lebanon, and attacks by Hezbollah on northern Israel.
Trump expressed optimism about the truce on Truth Social, hoping it could lead to an extended ceasefire involving Iran, the US, and Israel.
Hezbollah insisted the truce must cover all Lebanese territory and restrict Israeli movement, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated it does not entail withdrawing Israeli forces from southern Lebanon.
