The Israeli military also announced on Tuesday that it had killed Gholam Reza Soleimani, the head of the Revolutionary Guard’s all-volunteer Basij force, a critical part of Iran’s internal security and military structure. Israeli media reported that other senior Basij officials were also targeted in the strikes that hit senior officials in Tehran on Monday night.
