Israel's Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant stated on Wednesday that the country's military offensive in Gaza would not be halted for any resumption of ceasefire and hostage release talks with Hamas. Gallant emphasized that negotiations with Hamas would only take place under fire, as the Israeli military continues its efforts to weaken the enemy.
Following a flight in an Israeli air force F-15 fighter jet over Gaza and Israel's northern border with Lebanon to assess the combat theaters of the IDF, Gallant made these remarks.
Meanwhile, Egyptian, Qatari, and American officials were set to convene in Doha to revive discussions on a Gaza truce. This initiative followed US President Joe Biden's proposal, which outlined a three-phase plan that included the release of hostages alongside a comprehensive ceasefire in Gaza.
