ISRAEL has rejected US president Donald Trump's 15-point plan for Gaza, according to reports.
The BBC reports that Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said his military will not withdraw from Gaza until Hamas is "genuinely" disarmed.
Trump's so-called "Board of Peace" said last month that it had reached an agreement for the "complete disarmament" of Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza.
Yet Hamas said that handing over its heavy weapons was dependant on Israel ending "all forms of aggression" and withdrawing its forces from Gaza.
Israel has continued to carry out strikes on Gaza despite agreeing to an initial ceasefire last October.
Since then, more than 1200 Palestinians have been killed by Israel, according to Al Jazeera, which has been tracking Israel's repeated ceasefire violations.
The media outlet reports that between October 10, 2025 and July 19, 2026, Israel violated the ceasefire agreement at least 3795 times.
The UN's children's agency, Unicef, says that at least 300 of those killed are children – equivalent to around one child a day since the ceasefire was called – while hundreds more have been wounded.
In a cabinet meeting on Sunday, Netanyahu reportedly said: "Israel rejects the 15-point document".
He went on to say that the Israeli military "will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is genuinely disarmed and will continue to thwart threats against our forces and citizens."
The Israeli prime minister is reportedly in discussion with US officials about how to go forward.
The BBC reported he said: "They have ideas, some of them are acceptable to us and some are not, and we know how to stand our ground on these matters."
