On Monday, Israel successfully intercepted five unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) in the Mediterranean Sea region, preventing them from entering Israeli territory, as confirmed by the Israeli military. The military assured that there is no immediate security threat to the area surrounding Ben Gurion Airport.
Earlier reports from Israeli media indicated that flight departures at Ben Gurion International Airport were temporarily suspended following the sounding of sirens in numerous northern settlements. These sirens were triggered by projectiles launched from Lebanon.
A spokesperson for the Israel Airports Authority disclosed that departing flights were paused for a brief period of 15 to 20 minutes due to the presence of drones in the vicinity. This precautionary measure was implemented based on directives from the Israeli Air Force. Fortunately, incoming flights remained unaffected by the situation.
