IDF strike Hamas targets in Gaza
The number of people killed in Gaza has climbed to 8,005 following another day of airstrikes, the Hamas-led Gaza health ministry has said. The figure includes over 3,000 children, increasing calls among humanitarian groups and politicians for a ceasefire.
This comes as the Met Police reveal they have made 100 arrests in pro-Palestine demonstrations in recent weeks, with two women arrested for inciting racial hatred in Trafalgar Square.
In Gaza, thousands of civilians broke into aid warehouses overnight, taking wheat flour and other basic survival items like hygiene supplies.
The UNRWA has warned this “is a worrying sign that civil order is starting to break down” after a three-week blockade of vital supplies such as electricity, food and fuel.
This comes as communication blockade in Gaza eases as Israel commences with the second day of its ground invasion of the enclave.
Two days after cellular and internet services abruptly vanished for most Gazans, Palestinian media reported phone and internet services were gradually returning.
It comes as residents in the north of the bombarded enclave have been ordered to evacuate south as they were told their “window to act is closing”.
