Israel's military issued an evacuation order for residents in several neighborhoods of the southern suburbs of Beirut on Monday night local time. The areas affected by the order were the suburbs of Burj Al-Barajneh and Hadath, as announced by IDF Arabic spokesperson Avichay Adraee in a post on X. The post included a map of the area pinpointing specific buildings that needed to be evacuated.
Adraee emphasized the importance of the evacuation for the safety of the residents and their families, instructing them to leave the identified buildings immediately and move at least 500 meters away from the area.
Earlier on Monday, an Israeli strike resulted in a significant explosion near Beirut's airport in the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital. The impact of the strike was visible through large smoke plumes rising from the southern Dahiyeh neighborhood. Despite the incident, operations at Beirut's international airport continued with planes departing and landing as scheduled.
