Israel's National Security Cabinet has approved the next phase of its conflict with Hezbollah, signaling a potential ground invasion of Lebanon. The Israeli Air Force has resumed bombing the southern suburbs of Beirut as tensions escalate.
The Israeli government has communicated to the United States about several planned operations, including potential ground incursions into Lebanon. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller confirmed this on Monday.
Israel's defense minister, while addressing troops near the Lebanese border, hinted at an imminent ground offensive. He emphasized the importance of eliminating Hezbollah leader Nasrallah but stressed that it is just one step in their strategy.
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated, 'The elimination of Nasrallah is a very important step, but it is not the final one. We will utilize all our capabilities, and if the other side underestimates our strength, they will soon realize the extent of our capabilities.'
