In recent weeks, the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah has intensified, with the most intense exchanges of fire since the October 7 attacks. The Iranian-backed militant group launched numerous rockets and missiles into Israel, reaching deeper than in previous attacks. Hezbollah's second-in-command declared that a 'battle without limits' is now underway.

Hezbollah stated that these launches were in retaliation for an Israeli strike on southern Beirut that targeted several Hezbollah commanders, resulting in the death of at least 45 people.

The Israeli military, under the leadership of Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, expressed readiness for further action against Hezbollah in the coming days. There are plans to potentially evacuate all Palestinian civilians from northern Gaza, including Gaza City, to lay siege to Hamas and secure the release of hostages.

Amid escalating tensions, US officials, including White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby and President Joe Biden, are urging Israel to de-escalate and prevent a wider war from erupting.

Israeli authorities enforced the closure of Al Jazeera's offices in the occupied West Bank, citing intelligence reports that the premises were being used to support terrorist activities. The funeral for Ibrahim Aqil, one of Hezbollah's senior figures killed in an Israeli missile strike, took place on Sunday.

Due to security concerns, the Lebanese University announced the closure of its campuses in three cities on Monday. The situation remains volatile as both sides continue to engage in hostilities, raising fears of further escalation in the region.
