A year on from Lottie Woad's incredible three-shot victory on her professional debut, Jenny Shin wrote another remarkable story at the ISPS Handa Women's Scottish Open in 2026.
The South Korean, who had struggled badly with her swing and had not won in a full decade swept all before her to claim the co-sanctioned tournament on the LPGA Tour and Ladies European Tour by two strokes.
And that was despite a rocky final round which finished three over. Nevertheless, Shin finished nine-under for the week to put an end to a winless drought rarely seen in pro golf.
Her reward for doing so was an immensely handsome one, too. Between 2017 and 2021, Ariya Jutanugarn, Stacy Lewis and Ryan O'Toole were among the winners as the high-quality field battled it out for the lion's share of $1.5 million.
But, since 2022, there has been a $2 million tournament purse up for grabs with $300,000 going the way of the champion, which we now know to be Shin.
While the overall payout is the joint-second-lowest of the year on the LPGA Tour, most players are not as focussed on the financial side as usual with the links test providing the perfect warm-up to next week's AIG Women's Open.
Shin, who had not claimed victor since the 2016 Volunteers of America Texas Shootout, is unlikely to care too much about the money and will simply be delighted she's been able to win at the highest level once again at 33 years old.
