A moderate high-pressure system is extending to cover the upper part of Thailand from Oct 10-14, thundershowers with isolated gusty winds and heavy to very heavy rain are likely in some provinces on Monday and Tuesday, followed by a temperature decrease, the Meteorological Department said in its 5am weather forecast on Monday.
To be affected by isolated rain on Monday are: Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit and Phitsanulok in the North; Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chai Nat, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Suphan Buri, Ayutthaya, Samut Sungkhram, Samut Sakhon, Nakhon Pathom, Bangkok and its vicinity in the Central; Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat in the East; and, Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Ranong and Phang-nga in the South.
Provinces to be affected on Tuesday are Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan.
After that temperatures will decrease by 3-5°C in the Northeast and 1-3°C in the North, Central and the East.
Wind waves in the Gulf of Thailand are expected to be about 2 metres high and more than 2m high in areas with thundershowers. All vessels are advised to proceed with caution from now until Oct 14.
