Tobermory RNLI were called to attend to the man on the yacht in Sanna Bay, shortly before 4pm on Sunday, June 24.
The casualty had injured his ankle and was cared for aboard the 15 metre vessel by two volunteer crew members.
After being given pain relief, he was transferred to the lifeboat which then met with a Coastguard Rescue 151 helicopter.
The man was then airlifted via the Inverness-based helicopter to Belford Hospital in Fort William for further treatment.
Meanwhile, the lifeboat returned to Sanna Bay, which is 1.5 nautical miles northeast of Ardnamurchan Lighthouse.
Two crew members assisted the casualty’s family in bringing their yacht to Tobermory, accompanied by the all-weather lifeboat.
The yacht was secured alongside with the assistance of Tobermory Coastguard Rescue Team.
The lifeboat returned to her berth and was made ready for service by 10.30pm.
A Tobermory RNLI spokesperson said: "We would like to extend their thanks to the crews of the boats who moved to allow the yacht to be brought alongside the pontoons and to the pilot and winchman of Rescue 151 for a smooth casualty transfer.
"We wish the yachtsman a speedy recovery and safe onward journey."
