The stunning island has plenty of highlights which should not be missed once you arrive.
According to the travel guide on the Liverpool John Lennon website, top attractions include dolphin spotting on the Atlantic and the water park Siam Park.
Great views and scenery are on offer across the island. A cable car journey to the top of Mount Teide takes you to 3,718 metres above sea level and offers incredible vistas.
To appreciate the best of the island, trips to Los Gigantes, Puerto Santiago, Costa Adeje and Playa de Los Cristianos are recommended. Tenerfie is an island made up of beautiful towns, villages and beaches, all with something different to offer.
If you need more convincing, The Times' verdict is: "In an area only a little larger than London, Tenerife packs in enough variety to keep the pickiest of travellers happy. There are the sandy beaches, thrilling waterparks and facility-packed hotels that make a family holiday headache-free. But go beyond the southern strip and you’ll find Spain’s highest mountain, streets of colourful colonial-era buildings, valleys of subtropical forest shrouded in mist and, in the capital Santa Cruz, enough cutting-edge modern architecture to make Bilbao blush."
