XDefiant's open beta is officially live, with players able to jump into Ubisoft's upcoming FPS game across a range of platforms.
Ubisoft's XDefiant is the latest game to try and grab a piece of the juicy FPS genre pie, competing directly with established franchises like Call of Duty's Warzone, Destiny 2, Valorant and even Fortnite to an extent. Just like the titles mentioned, XDefiant will be a free-to-play title, but players can still spend money on the game if they really want to, on things like cosmetics and a battle pass.
Players who took part in the XDefiant closed beta back in April were able to preload the XDefiant open beta ahead of time, leaving them to jump straight into the action. But if you didn't take part in the XDefiant closed beta, which was eventually extended due to server issues, it's pretty simple to get involved in the open beta this time around, with players only having to search for an download the XDefiant open beta on their console, or if you're on PC, via the Ubisoft Connect client.

Is XDefiant cross-platform?
Yes, the XDefiant open beta is cross-platform and is available for players on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Unfortunately, players on last-gen consoles such as the PS4 or Xbox One won't be able to participate in the XDefiant open beta, but don't worry, you will be able to play the full game when it's released later this summer.
Does XDefiant have crossplay?
Yes, XDefiant will feature crossplay across all platforms including PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X and PC. As mentioned previously, players on PS4 and Xbox One can't participate in the open beta, but when the full game is released, the title will support crossplay across all platforms.
During the current XDefiant open beta, which runs from Wednesday, June 21 at 6pm BST / 1pm EDT / 10am PDT until Friday, June 23 at 11pm PDT, which is 7am BST / 2am EDT on Saturday, June 24, the title will support crossplay across PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Can you carry progression from the XDefiant open beta to the full game?
No, progression from the XDefiant open beta will not carry over into the full game when it's released later this summer, but there is one caveat. Players can unlock two exclusive skins by getting involved in XDefiant Twitch Drops, and players will be able to carry over these skins to the full game when it launches.
The two exclusive skins are the M870 'Violet' Weapon Skin and M249 'Violet' Weapon Skin, you just need to watch a relevant Twitch stream for a set number of time to get them.
