Is this the most expensive Christmas decoration? Everything we know, plus the shocking price tag

Parent and child looking at Christmas decorations.

Whether you trim the house up like 'Blackpool Illuminations' or keep it simple with just a Christmas tree and one set of lights, we're asking is THIS the most expensive Christmas decoration.

There aren't many weeks left until Christmas, and the Black Friday sales when many parents will be browsing the best Black Friday toy deals is just around the corner. But amid the rising cost of living, some families will want to know which is the cheapest supermarket as they look for how to save money so they can fully enjoy the festive season.

Those who love Christmas will be waiting for Halloween to be over so that they can get the Christmas decorations out. But whether your attack is full to the brim with tinsel, baubles, or fairy lights, or you want to know how to rent a Christmas tree, you might just get a fright when you see a Christmas decoration that is being sold by one high-end retailer - it's price tag is jaw-dropping.

And it comes just after Goodto asked is this the most expensive Christmas grotto?

Is this the most expensive Christmas decoration?

We've stumbled across a nutcracker figurine that could be in the running as being one of the most expensive Christmas decorations. It will set you back a whopping £1,995 from Harrods, and it's a white and gold jewelled giant Nutcracker which stands at 178cm tall.

A description of the item which is available to buy online from other outlets, with a price tag of £1,299.99 (was £1,499.99) reads, "With shimmering gold and white, the 178cm height of this majestic figure makes it a stunning addition to any abode. Its captivating jewels imbue the room with opulence, making it ideal for those who seek out a space of supreme sophistication. Dimensions: L46-W53-H178cm Stunning Jewelled design Designed for indoor use only."

You don't have to be Scrooge to have a limit on the price you would pay for an item but when it comes to Christmas decorations. And with the pressure of turning your home into a grotto with various trends, you can see how people might impulsively buy now and pay later.

Except it's one decoration that you might want to keep the kids (and the pets) away from - so they don't break it.

But if you don't want to splash the cash or get yourself into debt, but you do love a good dupe on everything including the best perfume dupes that smell just like designer scents, then you'll be pleased to know that similar decorations are on sale for less.

A life-size Soldier Nutcracker is at Robert Dyas for £279.99 on sale, reduced from £479. It is available for free home delivery to most of the UK with a code, and order today for delivery by Monday 13th November.

Its offering is suitable for either indoor or outdoor use and even lights up. He has an impressive top hat, staff, and golden shoulder pads, as well as unique facial features for a festive, modern Nutcracker based on traditional wooden German nutcrackers. These are symbols of good luck and ward off evil spirits serving as protectors of your home. Just be sure to not scare the kids on their way home from school.

And Wayfair's Wooded Nutcracker is on sale with 47% off its £106.99 RRP, for £56.99. "This traditional nutcracker soldier is the perfect addition to your Christmas decorations and will deliver festive cheer for the whole family," the description states.

A three-day delivery option is available from an extra £4.99 and shoppers who have purchased the item have given it 3.3 stars out of five.

One shopper wrote, "I love xmas nut crackers they brighten up a room" and another happy shopper said, "Loved it".

But two others were less impressed, one awarded it one star and claimed, "Small. It’s not as big as image. Image misleads 100. The fireplace is clearly doll size."

Another gave two stars and said, "Thinner and smaller than I thought."
