The Traitors was never meant to be sexy. The entire USP of the hit BBC series is that it brings together regular Britons from all walks of life, sticks them in a castle, and makes them go mental for two weeks while repeatedly accusing each other of murder.
The beauty is in the banal. It’s Big Brother with a pinch more theatre. Anyone can take part, anyone can win. And that’s what people love about it. After over a decade of watching perfectly plumped, overly taut Love Islanders fill our screens like glazed doughnuts, the proud, buck-toothed nation of Great Britain yearns for normal, untouched faces. We want representation for the chopped community.
