The Block‘s billionaire bidder Adrian Portelli is rumoured to be in cahoots with the reality TV world, with the streets claiming he’s being looked at for a possible rival renovation show.
Last week, Portelli was on the tip of everyone’s tongue after it was revealed that he’d dropped a whopping $15.3 million on all of The Block homes in the 2024 season.
Alongside his big spend, the LMCT+ boss dropped a major bombshell, revealing he won’t be returning to The Block after appearing in multiple seasons.
Although he won’t be returning to the renovation show, it doesn’t mean we won’t be seeing Portelli on the telly… well rumour has it, at least.
In a cheeky tea spill to New Idea, a TV executive claimed that “phones are ringing off the hook” for Portelli following The Block‘s big auction day, with “chatter” of the billionaire bidder doing “something similar to Dr Chris Brown‘s Dream Home“.
“Adrian has managed to do what so many TV shows and talent have failed to do recently and that is captivate audiences,” they said.
“He could easily produce and host a renovation-type show of his very own.”
The insider continued to describe the former The Block bidder as a “very charitable man” and said LMCT+ — his platform that gives Aussies access to deluxe giveaways and deals — is “built for television”.
“He is TV’s magic man right now and will be in hot demand as networks look to bolster their lineups for the new year,” the insider said while adding that Network 10 and Seven could be eyeing the LMCT+ boss for their lifestyle renovation programs.
Is Adrian Portelli getting his own show?
At the time of writing, there haven’t been any official announcements surrounding Portelli and a possible television show. However, the big spender did tell HIT WA’s Allan & Carly he “reckons we might have our own show, to be honest”.
As soon as Portelli announces his show — which could potentially mean millions of dosh up for grabs — I am sprinting to the casting office!
