Peter Mandelson, Britain's Ambassador to the United States, is facing fresh scrutiny after Jeffrey Epstein documents resurfaced this week. Among them is a 'birthday book' compiled by Ghislaine Maxwell that includes a handwritten note in which Mandelson called Epstein his 'best pal' and signed off with 'we love you!!'.

The revelation is drawing intense attention given Mandelson's senior diplomatic post, which he has held since February 2025 after being appointed by Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
