Is Panthers QB Bryce Young keeping a Cam Newton tradition alive?

Cammy Cam loves the kids—and apparently, so does Brycey Bryce.

The Carolina Panthers opened up Thursday’s session of organized team activities to their personal seat license owners inside Bank of America Stadium. While signing autographs for those in attendance, rookie quarterback and this year’s No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young did something awfully reminiscent of the last guy who was in his position . . .

That “last guy” we were talking about is, of course, Cam Newton. Newton, the first No. 1 overall pick in franchise history, built a tradition of giveaways for the team’s young fans over his decade-long stay in Charlotte.

From his annual “Santa Cam” trips to local schools to gifting touchdown balls to the kiddos in the stands, Newton always showed love for Carolina’s kittens. And those presents even included his own personal bracelets and wristbands . . .

Perhaps Young isn’t even aware of this prior history involving Newton and Panthers fans. Maybe he just likes being really cool, too.

Nonetheless, Young continues to endear himself to the youngsters—just like “the last guy.”
