Emmerdale bosses have said that viewers may see popular characters get killed off during the soap's 50th anniversary special episodes.

The star has been a fan favourite ever since joining the show 25 years ago, which leaves viewers wondering if he may be one of the characters to lose their life during the dramatic storm.

Away from acting he is also a director and producer and has a secret passion for horror and zombie films. Back in May the 52 year old soap star announced that he was directing a new horror film Wolf Manor.

Sharing the news, he tweeted: "A bit of news. We wrapped on our new feature film ‘Wolf Manor’ over the weekend. "It’s a werewolf film and you’re going to love it. If you follow us @wolfmanorfilm we’ll follow you back straight away. Thank you."

Even though Dominic was directing the film, he also makes a short cameo appearance as a cannibal named Podge. The scary movie came out in September.

While the actor remains tight lipped about his future on the hit ITV soap he recently opened up about how he would feel if he were to be written out.

He said: “If I was to go tomorrow though, I wouldn’t complain because I’ve had 25 amazing years – but long may it continue. I absolutely love that job to pieces. I can’t explain to you what it means to me.”

Speaking about the past he added: “I saw a picture the other day for the 25th anniversary and I’m in the picture, and I just think ‘oh my god, 25 years ago?’ It feels like seven. Your life just flashes along so quickly, but I’ve been so lucky."
