It's one of the most-anticipated comedies of the year, but is No Hard Feelings streaming yet?
For how naturally hilarious she is—and for how varied her career has been (see our ranking of the best Jennifer Lawrence movies for proof)—it seems odd that J.Law hasn't starred in a big studio comedy yet. “I’ve always wanted to do a comedy. And I’ve read a lot of them,” the actress told The Associated Press. “I just didn’t read anything that was funny enough.”
Thankfully, No Hard Feelings was just that funny flick, written specifically with her in mind. “The reason I wrote this movie for her is because I knew how funny she was and I wanted everyone else to know. I mean, people know she’s funny but they wanted her in a comedy. I thought, yes I know how to do this. I know how to write her voice,” writer-director Gene Stupnitsky said in the outlet. “I remember I told her, ‘I really want you to experience a feeling of sitting in a theater with hundreds of people laughing.’ She’s had many, many experiences in film, but she hasn’t quite had this one.”
Given the excitement of J.Law helming an R-rated comedy, it's natural to be curious about No Hard Feelings' streaming release. Here's everything we know.
Is 'No Hard Feelings' streaming? How to watch
As of now, the only way to watch No Hard Feelings is to head out to a movie theater —the comedy has been given an exclusive theatrical release in the US, UK, Canada, etc, and so far, there has been no specific date announced for a streaming release.
However, that doesn't mean it'll never be available to stream at home. Given that the movie is a Sony release, it's likely that No Hard Feelings will eventually find its way onto Netflix, as Sony Pictures Entertainment inked a multi-year deal with the streamer back in 2022 that gives Netflix streaming rights of the studio's feature films in the US, following their theatrical and home entertainment runs.
Since most Sony releases have come to Netflix 120 days after their initial theatrical release, that puts us in October 2023 for when No Hard Feelings should arrive on the streaming platform.
As for Lawrence's take on why the film is being released exclusively in theaters? "I look much better 12 feet high," she joked to the Associated Press.

Who is in the 'No Hard Feelings' cast?
We already know Lawrence well, but her co-star might be less familiar to viewers: it's Andrew Barth Feldman, best known for his tenure in Broadway's Dear Evan Hanson.
Taking the role of Percy in No Hard Feelings was a tough decision for Feldman, however, as he was already attending Harvard University when he was offered the role.
“When Andrew left his audition, the door closed and we all looked at each other and we were like, ‘That’s our — that’s Percy,'” Lawrence recently told Entertainment Tonight. “Then they were like there’s one complication, he’s supposed to go to Harvard, and we were like, ‘Is that a joke?’ He was fully the character, so I called him and said, ‘Andrew, I have really bad news you’re not gonna be able to finish your semester at Harvard.’ He’s gonna have to defer, or whatever college school words are.”
Though he happily accepted the role, "I’m hoping to go back soon," Feldman told USA Today of continuing his studies.
The full No Hard Feelings cast includes:
- Jennifer Lawrence as Maddie Barker
- Andrew Barth Feldman as Percy Becker
- Matthew Broderick as Laird Becker
- Laura Benanti as Allison Becker
- Natalie Morales as Sarah
- Scott MacArthur as Jim
- Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Gary
- Hasan Minhaj as Doug Khan
- Kyle Mooney as Jody
- Zahn McClarnon as Gabe Sawyer
