Is Newcastle vs Qarabag on TV? Channel, kick-off time and how to watch Champions League play-off clash

Newcastle look all but certain to progress to the round of 16 - (Getty Images)

Newcastle are in a seemingly unassailable position after the first leg of their Champions League knockout play-off tie with Qarabag.

Eddie Howe’s side won 6-1 in Baku last week to all but book their place in the round of 16 of the competition with an outstanding away performance.

Howe can probably, then, afford to rest a few first-choice starters for the visit of the Azerbaijani club as he looks ahead to a likely clash with Barcelona or Chelsea in the next round.

Having become the first team from their country to reach the knockout phase of the competition, Qarabag will hope to provide a better account of themselves in the second leg even as their exit looms.

Here’s everything you need to know.

When is Newcastle vs Qarabag?

Newcastle vs Qarabag is due to kick off at 8pm GMT on Tuesday 24 February at St James’ Park.

How can I watch it?

Viewers in the United Kingdom can watch the second leg of the Champions League knockout play-off tie live on Amazon Prime Video, with coverage from 6.30pm GMT.

Defender Sven Botman and forward Yoane Wissa could return to the Newcastle squad after recovering from a back injury and dead leg respectively. Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon, who scored four in the first leg, did not train with the rest of the squad on match eve and may be rested, while Malick Thiaw is suspended.
