Max, Warner Bros’ streaming channel, will launch in the UK at some point, according to TV executives.
Warner Bros Discovery confirmed that it planned to expand its streaming product into markets in Latin America and Europe.
During the organisation’s recent earnings call for Q4, executives specifically mentioned the UK and Germany as areas of interest for expansion.
In other parts of the meeting, executives teased the development of a number of big-hitting shows in the next few years including White Lotus season three as well as a Harry Potter and a Dune series. They also mentioned the potential to bundle their product with Netflix to give viewers programming from both platforms.
“We had some real misses but also some really big wins,” HBO bosses said in the earnings call, citing Suicide Squad as one of the projects that didn’t do as well as they had hoped.
The platform, which replaces HBO Max, aims to offer subscribers a wider selection of entertainment.
Despite some challenges, the entertainment channel executives had a positive outlook for the next few years. So when will Max be heading to the UK?

Warner Bros Discovery is in the process of rolling out Max internationally.
However, TV fans hoping to be able to see HBO shows may have to wait until at least 2026 when the streaming service hits the UK.
While executives placed the UK and Germany launch dates as being in two years' time, they didn’t share any further details about its availability or how much a UK subscription would cost.
However, it’s worth noting that some HBO shows, like Game of Thrones and Succession, are available to watch on the streaming service NOW.

Should Warner Bros’ rollout be successful in the UK, it will also coincide with the expected release of a Harry Potter series. According to the Wrap, executives recently met JK Rowling about bringing the franchise back to life.
“Both sides just thrilled to be reigniting this franchise,” said David Zaslav, the chief executive of Warner Bros Discovery CEO, according to the Wrap. He added: “We can’t wait to share a decade of new stories with fans around the world on Max. We’re aiming for a debut in 2026.”
Initial reports suggested the producers aim to fit each book into one series, with seven seasons in total. However, few details about the project are known at this point.
According to the recent earnings call, another show that will become available on the streaming platform in due course is Dune.
Warner Bros confirmed filming will start next week on Superman: Legacy and that A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will premiere on Max in 2025.
