Is 'Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls' Teasing The Fantastic Four's Arrival?

A new report has spotted potential future content for "Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls," centering on the Fantastic Four.

While nothing has been confirmed, the recurring theme has sparked plenty of speculation ahead of the game's launch.

'Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls' Teases Fantastic Four

Arc System Works has been steadily rolling out character guides for "Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls" ahead of its Open Beta, breaking down each fighter's moves, combo structure, assists, and cosmetics one by one.

According to ComicBook Gaming, fans have noticed that several outfits pull specifically from moments when that character was briefly affiliated with the Fantastic Four, even if only for a short stretch in the comics.

The report detailed that this pattern has shown up across multiple confirmed fighters rather than just one isolated case, leading some to wonder whether it's simply a coincidence tied to comic-accurate costume design or an intentional hint.

Should this hint be accurate, it could be pointing toward a future Fantastic Four-related DLC team.

Character Guides Tease Potential Fantastic Four Arrival

The costume drawing the most attention is Wolverine. The recently released character guide of Logan already highlighted a classic yellow and brown look pulled from "Uncanny X-Men," fitting into this same broader trend of costumes referencing past Fantastic Four ties across the cast.

It's worth noting this remains purely speculative, since Arc System Works has not confirmed any connection between these costume choices and a future roster addition.

Still, the pattern lines up with how the game has handled previous DLC teams. Deadpool and Loki, for example, joined Ghost Rider and Blade under the Samurai Outriders banner rather than the previously assumed Midnight Sons grouping many fans expected, showing the developers have been willing to mix and match characters into unconventional teams.

If a Fantastic Four DLC team does eventually happen, it could similarly include a mix of classic members like Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, or The Thing alongside other popular Marvel characters rather than the traditional four-person lineup.

According to the report, other notable characters in "Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls" that had a team-up with the Fantastic Four include: Black Panther, Ghost Rider, and Spider-Man.

'Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls' Open Beta

The Open Beta for "Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls" runs from July 24 through July 27, giving players a chance to test the game's roster and mechanics about a week ahead of its full release.

The game features 4v4 tag team combat, where players start a match with two active characters and build their full team of four by tagging in additional fighters using the game's Assemble system throughout the fight.

Confirmed characters so far include Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Ghost Rider, Storm, Star-Lord, Doctor Doom, Ms. Marvel, Peni Parker, Magik, Magneto, Wolverine, and Black Panther, among others.

"Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls" is set to launch on August 6 for PS5 and PC, giving fans a bit more time to speculate on whether these Fantastic Four costume clues turn into an actual roster reveal down the line.
