Is LinkedIn down? Users report being unable to access platform

Many LinkedIn users reported being unable to use the platform on Friday morning (October 6), as it appeared to be experiencing an outage.

The social media platform, which is the largest of its kind serving primarily professional users and businesses, returned an error message to a number of users when they attemped to login to its website.

Those who were impacted by the outage were met with an error message when trying to go on the platform.

The message simply read: “We seem to have encountered an error. Try going back to the previous page or see our Help Center for more information.”

LinkedIn now appears to be working again for many users.

According to Downdetector, a website that records outages, there was 288 complaints of downtime at around 9:56AM.

Users had already started to share their experiences online by Friday morning, using other social media platforms. One user on X simply posted: “Looks like LinkedIn has finally had enough #linkedindown”

Another wrote: "#LinkedIn yet again!! #LinkedIndown 🤦‍♀️😏😡 @LinkedIn"

LinkedIn hasn’t issued any official statements about the situation at the time of writing.
