Indianapolis Colts defensive end Kwity Paye was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice to begin the week, but he popped up on the injury report on Thursday with a hamstring. He was then limited in practice the final two days of the week.

On Friday, the Colts listed Paye as questionable. The team did not make a practice squad elevation on Saturday but due to their being six defensive ends on the 53-man roster, that didn’t provide us with much insight into Paye’s status against Minnesota. However, Paye was not among the Colts’ inactive players–so he will play on Sunday night.
Despite missing two games earlier in the season, Paye is still third on the team in pressures, however, his impact often goes beyond the stat sheet with his willingness as a run defender and to do the dirty work setting edges.

Along with Paye, other key members of the Colts’ defensive end rotation include Dayo Odeyingbo and Laiatu Latu. Adam Gotsis has also averaged 14 snaps per game this season, but the Colts opted to list him as inactive and have Isaiah Land available instead. In limited snaps, Land has shown some pass rush upside this season.
The Colts’ defensive line unit as a whole got a massive boost against Houston with DeForest Buckner returning to the line up. In addition to the numbers he puts up against both the run and the pass, his presence alone benefits those around him with the attention he draws. Getting after Minnesota quarterback Sam Darnold will be a must in this game.
