Is Jonathon Brooks playing today? Injury updates for the Panthers RB in Week 12

The Carolina Panthers are finally going to see what their second-round pick’s got.

Running back Jonathon Brooks is expected to make his NFL debut in Sunday’s matchup against the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. The 21-year-old has been sidelined since last November, when he tore the ACL in his right knee while still playing for the University of Texas Longhorns.

Head coach Dave Canales, who has confirmed the team’s plans to play Brooks this weekend, was asked if the rookie will have any limitations in his first pro outing.

“Not thinking pitch count,” Canales told reporters of Brooks on Friday afternoon. “He’s gotta be ready to play a full game. If something did happen and Chuba [Hubbard] broke a shoelace and he’s gotta get that fixed for a second, JB will be ready to go.”

Brooks will step into the No. 2 role at the position in place of Miles Sanders, who has been ruled out with an ankle injury.
