An electrical shop owner from Cheadle had Radio X listeners in stitches when he was told live on air he'd won a competition - but could not remember what for.
Radio X DJ Chris Moyles and the team gave their fans the chance to dine with them for brunch and, when they called up prize winner David Flynn, they had a few technical difficulties. Things took a further hilarious turn when David, who owns Cheadle Electrical supplies, was informed he had won - but couldn't remember exactly what he had entered.
As the 43-year-old phone rang out the team prayed: "Please be normal, please be a normal person..." but no sooner had David answered than the phone immediately cut off.

Moyles rang back again and asked David: "Hello, you alright mate?" to which he replied: "Yeah I'm all good." But he seemed to have problems remembering where he was, when asked. "I don't know, where am I? he mused, before saying: "I'm at work in Cheadle."
When he guessed it was Chris Moyles on the other end of the line, Moyles said: " I am live on the radio so please don't swear." To which David replied: "Alright fair enough."
When he said he owned a little electrical shop called Cheadle Electrical, Moyles asked: "Isn't that an absolutely brilliant electrical store that will help you with all your electrical needs in the Cheadle area?" and a very laid back sounding David replied, "Could be."
The team were in stitches when Moyles told David he had won and his response was "Excellent! What have I won?" Moyles tried to prompt his memory, asking if he remembered entering a competition and David replied "Oh yeah, yeah the booze up." And then asked "Is it tomorrow?"
As Moyles joked about David's laid back response and jokingly told him to "calm down, don't get too excited" - he explained he had been on his bike at the time of the call and was struggling to hear as someone was cutting down trees.
More mayhem ensued when the phone cut off again. David, who was riding his bike and being bombarded with calls from pals, then called back and put Moyles on hold. The DJ joked "The irony that you run an electrical shop but your phone doesn't work." The rest of the team joked he was like "Do you know who I am" viral sensation Ronnie Pickering.
David , who thought it was a "wind up", said: "Oh my god - I don't know what has gone on here. It's all gone a bit....well, I nearly swore then." The team asked David who he was going to take to the brunch at a five-star hotel in London. When he revealed he wasn't married they suggested he take a mate, to which he replied: "Well I will find one - they are all cranks."
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News , David said: "I was on my bike and I had my ear buds in and people kept calling me, so it was cutting off.
"I entered all the competitions they do Radio X and it is usually for money, so I wasn't sure what it was for. I thought it might be a wind up at first.
"When my phone kept cutting off I thought they might give the prize to someone else I called them back and they were calling me, so it all got a bit hectic."
David said some customers are a bit jealous and have been trying to work out how they can win a prize, while his friends have been wondering who he is going to take with him.
He said: "I feel a bit embarrassed about going for brunch with strangers but after three or four pints of Guinness I'm sure it will be all good."
David won over a legion of fans following the call. One tweeted: "Thanks from David, made me laugh". Another added: "What an ambassador for Cheadle". Watch the video HERE.
