Astronomers have discovered an unusual Jupiter-sized world that is forcing scientists to reconsider the familiar distinction between planets and moons.
The object is roughly as massive as Jupiter and circles a brown dwarf — an object larger than a planet but too small to sustain the hydrogen fusion that powers ordinary stars. The brown dwarf, meanwhile, is itself orbiting a small star.
