Gogglebox has been moved from its usual slot next week, leaving fans of the Channel 4 show devastated. Every Friday night, fans of the show tune in to listen as Britain's wittiest armchair critics have their say on the week's television, with many of the participants on the show becoming niche celebrities in their own right.
But the Liverpool Echo reports that fans of the show may not be able to kick off their weekend in the usual way on Friday, October 21, as the quirky reality show will not be broadcast. Friday Night Live will be taking Gogglebox's usual 9pm slot.
To celebrate 40 years of Channel 4, Ben Elton will be hosting a revival of the iconic show that aired on Channel 4 in the 1980s. The one-off 90-minute special will 'unite the hottest new wave stand-ups and character comedians alongside some original show legends in a dangerously live night of comedy', according to producers.

Friday Night Live was originally broadcast as Saturday Live before it was moved to a different day. It aired between 1985 and 1988, and is credited with launching Ben Elton's career and raising the profile of comedians such as Harry Enfield, Jo Brand, Julian Clary, Rik Mayall, and Adrian Edmondson.
Whilst this is great news for fans of 80s television, some Gogglebox viewers have been left 'gutted' by the news that their favourite show has been moved. On a Facebook group dedicated to the show, one fan wrote: "No Gogglebox next week [crying emoji]."
One Facebook user said: "Noooo, this is the worst news", while a second said: "An hour isn't even enough".
A third said: "Well that's just ruined my day". Thankfully, Gogglebox will be airing on Saturday, October 22, meaning fans will only have to wait an extra day to get their weekly dose.
