ITV have confirmed a return date for Emmerdale as the network had a schedule shake up following the news of the Queen’s death.
Her Majesty died peacefully on Thursday September 8 at the age of 96, after an incredible 70 year reign. TV schedules were altered significantly following her death, with soaps like Emmerdale being pulled off air.
The soap was pulled from Monday nights line up in favour of more news coverage as network gave updates on the Queen's final journey. However after a few days off air Emmerdale will return tonight with an hour long special.

The episode was originally due to air on Monday however the episode was taken off air and will instead be on tonight at 8.05pm to get the show back on track. The back-to-back episode will see Naomi Walters worries whether she'll be jailed over her involvement in Nicola King's gang attack while Mackenzie Boyd struggles after cheating on Charity.
Elsewhere Kim Tate will finally discover the truth that her son Jamie Tate is alive but Kim has to make a hard decision when Hazel reveals Jamie was physically violent toward her. Meanwhile there will be no episode of Coronation Street tonight, which isn’t unusual for a Tuesday evening as Corrie usually only airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. And BBC One’s EastEnders will air at the later time of 9.30pm.
