Is Dancing On Ice on tonight? Start time and date for final after cancellation

Dancing On Ice is not on as usual tonight [Sunday, March 20] with the final cancelled to make way for the live FA Cup Football. Those hoping to tune into ITV this weekend to see which of the three finalists will be crowned winner will have to wait until Sunday, March 27 when the show returns.

Instead, the Nottingham Forest v Liverpool match will air tonight in Dancing On Ice's usual slot. Kick off is at 6pm with coverage starting from 5:15pm on the channel.

It means this year's three finalists will have more time to train in the ice rink as they prepare for the 2022 finale. Still left in the competition is Brendan Cole, Kimberly Wyatt and Regan Gascoigne.

It comes after Connor Ball and Kye White were voted off the series in a double elimination during the semi finals on Sunday, March 13. Dancing On Ice has reminded ITV viewers that the show will not air on Sunday, March 20.

In a statement, they said: "Don't forget we're not on this weekend because of the footy, but it gives our couples an extra week to train like never before and work on their amazing Final routines!" Adding: "We'll be back on the ice for the Final, next Sunday at 7pm!"

The delay to the Dancing On Ice final was announced by presenter Phillip Schofield, who was solo last week after co-presenter Holly Willoughby tested positive for Covid-19, at the end of the semi-finals. The announcement left many disappointed, especially after ITV also confirmed the final of Starstruck would be delayed due the the live Six Nations, as was Saturday Night Takeaway.

"Sport is literally taking over ITV atm Takeaway isn't on next week because of rugby and final of dancing on ice has been moved a week due to fa cup," one viewer wrote at the time.

While another added: "Although I was not pleased that the show has to be moved for the FA cup, the good news is that everyone will have two weeks to practice which should make for an even better final."

When is the Dancing On Ice 2022 final?

After a delay the final will now air on Sunday, March 27, which happens to be Mother's Day. ITV viewers can watch the action unfold from 7pm.

The episode will be two hours long and will see Brendan Cole, Kimberly Wyatt and Regan Gascoigne battle it out to be crowned the 2022 champion. The winner will take the title from 2021's Sonny Jay who won the competition with his professional partner Angela Egan.
