Will Cyriel Dessers successfully fill the void left by Alfredo Morelos?
Craig Swan: Dessers says he is at his peak and, if that’s the case, he will be dangerous. But, fit or not, Morelos scored a lot of goals. Tough task.
Fraser Wilson: Only time will tell. Last season wasn’t great in a struggling Cremonese team but get back to the hauls he bagged in the Netherlands with Feyenoord, Breda and Heracles and he will be a success.
Scott Burns: I would say that Dessers can get to the levels that Morelos did when he was at his Ibrox peak. It wouldn’t take much to improve on the Alfredo of last season.
Is Joe Hart nailed on to be Celtic's No.1 next season?
Craig: Yes, but he’ll need to stay on top form. Rodgers wasn’t shy in initially replacing Craig Gordon with Dorus De Vries at the start of his first spell.
Fraser: It all depends if Brendan Rodgers brings in a big name. But Hart deserves to start as No.1 and despite some criticism has been a key part of the success over the last two years. He still makes big saves at key times.
Scott: I suspect he will start the season as No. 1. I wouldn’t be surprised if Brendan Rodgers brought in another keeper but I don’t think anyone already at the club will dislodge Hart.
Should Aberdeen fans be excited by their summer recruitment?
Craig: Barry Robson needs more but early signs are encouraging and the extra dosh from Europe won’t go amiss. Good times ahead in the Granite City.
Fraser: I’d think so. Nicky Devlin is a real good signing in the modern day – a full-back that can defend! Leighton Clarkson is top quality, Graeme Shinnie will bring energy, drive and passion. Keep Duk and Miovski fit and the Dons look really strong.
Scott: Yes, there is excitement in the North-east with the return of Graeme Shinnie and Leighton Clarkson. They still have work to do because they are short defensively and have the added strains of Europe until Christmas.
Viaplay Cup groups have claimed top flight clubs in the past. Which club is most in danger this year?
Craig: Most of the top-flight sides look to be in decent shape, even if squads are nowhere near completed. Not many shocks.
Fraser: Dundee face a big test in Group E and it might come too early for Tony Docherty’s new-look Dark Blues. I’d still expect every top seed to qualify. But I’ve said that before..
Scott: I don’t see too many shocks. My slight concern would be St Johnstone but that is because they are short of numbers, although if Steven MacLean can add then his side will be okay.
