Is Corpay Stock Outperforming the Nasdaq?

Atlanta, Georgia-based Corpay, Inc. (CPAY) operates as a payments company that helps businesses and consumers to manage and pay their expenses. The company has a market cap of $26.5 billion and operates through Corporate Payments, Vehicle Payments, Lodging Payments, and Other segments. CPAY offers vehicle payment solutions for fuel, tolls, and parking; vehicle compliance; auto insurance; road assistance; fleet maintenance; and more.

Companies with a market cap of $10 billion or more are typically referred to as “large-cap stocks.” CPAY fits perfectly into that category, with its market cap exceeding this threshold and reflecting its substantial size and influence in the software infrastructure industry.

CPAY stock reached its 52-week high of $427.46 on Sept. 3 and has slipped 6.3% from that peak. The stock has grown 16.1% over the past three months, outperforming the Nasdaq Composite ($NASX), which declined marginally over the same period.

Over the longer term, the scenario remains the same. CPAY is up 31.3% over the past 52 weeks, while NASX is up 17.8% over the same period, underperforming the stock.

CPAY has been trading above its 200-day moving average since May and also above its 50-day moving average since July.

On Aug. 6, CPAY stock rose nearly 1% following the release of its better-than-expected Q2 2026 earnings. The company’s revenue for the quarter amounted to $1.3 billion, surpassing the Street’s estimates. Moreover, its adjusted EPS came in at $7, also topping Wall Street’s forecasts. Corpay expects full-year earnings in the range of $27.15 to $27.55 per share, with revenue in the range of $5.29 billion to $5.33 billion.

When stacked against its peer in the software infrastructure industry, CoreWeave, Inc. (CRWV) shares have declined 34.3% over the past 52 weeks, also lagging behind CPAY.

Wall Street’s view of CPAY stock is highly bullish. Among the 18 analysts covering the stock, the overall consensus rating is “Strong Buy.” Its mean price target of $458 offers a 14.3% upside potential.
