Bukayo Saka is in danger of missing England's second group stage game of the 2026 World Cup against Ghana.

The Arsenal and England superstar missed training ahead of the Group L clash.

Saka did not start the Three Lions' previous game against Croatia, in which they prevailed 4-2 in a re-grudge-match following their 2018 World Cup semi-final loss to the Luka Modric-led side.

The Arsenal winger has been managing an Achilles injury for the past few months, bringing his availability into question.

Now, the 24-year-old has missed training ahead of England's face-off against Ghana, in which the Three Lions could secure progression to the knock-out phases of the 48-team tournament.

Saka previously admitted that he is willing to "gamble" his injury and play despite it, for the benefit of the Three Lions in North America.

As a result, the Arsenal superstar has been training away from the rest of the team, following a carefully constructed plan for his individual needs.

This programme has now successfully resulted in him being in contention for an appearance against Ghana.

However, it also appears likely that the 24-year-old will not start in the match, joining Marcus Rashford in England's list of starter status doubts.

Three Lions boss Thomas Tuchel made it clear that Saka may only start a World Cup game when Panama arrives, as England's last Group L fixture.

Both Saka and Rashford delivered a goal contribution from off the bench against Croatia, combining for the Three Lions' final strike.

The Arsenal man played Rashford in on goal, who cut inside with a delicate touch before curling his effort into the bottom right.

For now, both players face a race against time to be declared fully fit and in contention to be starters, as England's World Cup campaign unfolds.
