Is Brad Stevens a better head coach or executive with the Boston Celtics?

Which version of Brad Stevens has been a better fit for the Boston Celtics? The man on the sidelines with a clipboard? Or the version serving currently as the team’s president of basketball operations?

While this is in no way a shot at the Indiana native’s coaching chops, a growing chorus of support for the job Stevens has done as the team’s chief executive has many wondering if this move was truly the place he fits best in the organization.

By most accounts, a series of cascading missteps by outgoing team president Danny Ainge had left the franchise something of a mess. This came about despite his building the Celtics into a perennial contender for more than half a decade and nearly earning a second banner during his time at the helm of the Celtics.

Stevens managed to cut that Gordian knot in less than a year, finishing the job Ainge started and seemingly setting the team up for continued success in pursuit of an 18th banner.

The hosts of the CLNS Media “A-List” podcast recently debated whether Stevens makes a better coach or exec, but you’ll need to watch the clip above to hear their take on Bargain-hunting Brad.
