IRVINE Welsh has demanded the Palestine Action ban “has to go” as he hit out at the treatment of fellow author Sally Rooney.

The Trainspotting author questioned why Palestine Action had been "banned" and argued that existing laws covering offences such as trespassing and criminal damage were sufficient without treating supporters as terrorists.
