Irvine's famous Marymass Festival is set to return for the first time in three years.
Organisers are set to push on with a full programme of events for the traditional 12-day August extravaganza including its showpiece - Marymass Saturday.
That means the return of the horse-drawn Marymass Parade and a packed card of festivities on Irvine Moor including the legendary Greasy Pole event.
Covid restrictions saw the festival scrapped in 2020 and 2021 with a virtual version put in its place.
But this morning, Danny Kerr, Captain of Irvine Carters Society who help organise Marymass, confirmed normal service will resume with Marymass Saturday taking place on August 20.
He said: "We're absolutely delighted to say that we're planning for a return to a normal Marymass again.
"The virtual events over the last few years were fantastic. We had 130,000 online views in the first year and then 270,000 last year so it was a great way to keep the Marymass tradition alive.
"But Irvine needs Marymass and Marymass needs Irvine so to get the event back to normal is something the whole town can look forward to.
"Obviously, any new restrictions that come in we will adhere to but hopefully things are looking good for a more traditional Marymass."
