Kevin Deeney admits he’s already focused on building for next season.
The Irvine Meadow boss landed his first permanent management gig and he’s keen to make it a roaring success.
He’s already eyeing up who he wants to bring to Meadow Park to strengthen for next season – and he’s aiming to “get his ducks in a row early”.
Deeney told the Irvine Herald: “We are planning for next season already. It’s a case of seeing who’s moving on and who we can bring in.
“That’s all we can really do, I’m not thinking too far ahead, I just want to get my signings in place.
“A lot of guys are waiting until the summer to assess their options. I want to try and get my ducks in a row and get business done as quickly as possible.
“That’s easier said than done, though, but now I’ve got the job permanently I can get down to business.
“I want to get my own guys in. It’s down to me now and I need to make it work.”
Meanwhile, Medda are getting set for a tricky clash away to Junior Cup finalists Cumnock this Saturday.
Deeney said: “It’s going to be interesting. I don’t know how they’ll react after the Auchinleck Talbot game.
“They’ll be on a high after getting to the cup final, though. I don’t think it’s a great time to meet them but it is what it is. We just need to take it as it comes.”
