Irn-Bru has announced they will be opening a new Edinburgh 'restaurant' for Burns Night to get the younger generation involved in old traditions.
The iconic Scottish drink will be joining forced with UberEats to launch a takeaway in the capital from January 21-25 in order to celebrate the poet.
Creating their own iconic menu with modern twists on the traditional haggis neeps and tatties, there will be starters, mains and desserts on offer.
According to the brand, a recent survey shows that almost half of younger millennials do not celebrate Burns Night, with the restaurant hoped to help pass on how to create a Burns Supper.
With the aim to keep Scottish celebrations alive, the menu will include haggis nuggets, macaroni pies with Irn-Bru crusts and even deep fried neeps.
The choices will be as follows:
Main menu
Haggis nuggets with a spiced Irn-Bru chutney
Fried tatties (mixed root veg fries)
Mac ‘n’ Cheese Pie with BRU glazed bacon crumble
Vegan menu:
Vegan Haggis nuggets with a spiced Irn-Bru chutney
Fried tatties (mixed root veg fries)
Mac ‘n’ Cheese Pie with ‘neep’ crumble
Dessert
Whisky infused chocolate mousse with an oatcake biscuit base
Drink
Irn-Bru...obviously
Speaking about the upcoming launch, Adrian Troy, Marketing Director at AG Barr, said: “As a brand that’s so proud of our Scottish roots, it was a no-brainer to unite with UberEats to make sure that future generations continue to celebrate a day that’s become synonymous with celebrating being Scottish.”
"We hope BRU fans across the country will join us in raising a toast to Rabbie whilst tucking into their reimagined Burns supper. And we are pleased to say that for every Burns by BRU meal ordered, the full cost be donated directly to Scottish foodbanks - as the bard himself said, ‘a man’s a man for a’ that’."
Burns By BRU will be open every evening from 5.30pm on Friday 21 – Tuesday 25 January. Search for ‘Burns By BRU’ on the UberEats app and share a snap of your supper on Instagram @IrnBru and Twitter @IrnBru with #BurnsByBru.
