A NEW range of energy drinks is set to be launched in Scotland later this month by the makers of Irn-Bru.
AG Barr said its Pwr-Bru drink will contain the “iconic Irn-Bru essence for a unique taste,” and like its counterparts such as Red Bull and Monster will contain caffeine, taurine and B-Vitamins.
Those who want a taste before the official launch on August 28, can look for “scan the can” QR codes that have been placed around various cities in Scotland such as; Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen, Inverness and Perth.
Clues as to the whereabouts will be revealed on Pwr-Bru's social media channels over the next 10 days, according to the company.
However, with only 400 cans in circulation fans will need to be quick to get their hands on one of the cans.
Annette Yates, head of brand at Pwr-Bru, said: “Pwr-bru is a combination of the unique personality of Irn-Bru and a bold new approach to energy drinks.
"It’s one of the biggest launches ever from the family behind Irn-Bru and we think fans of energy drinks are going to enjoy adding a Pwr-Brust to their day.”
The drink will be exclusive to Scottish markets, with four flavours available at launch:
Origin - Original
Diablo - Cherry
Maverick - Berry
Dropkick - Tropical
Pwr-Bru will then be available in retailers in 500ml cans across Scotland from August 28. For more information, visit www.pwr-bru.co.uk
